Migration architecture: C# MVC monolith to React, Next.js and .NET Core

THE CONTEXT

ZIK started as a C# MVC monolith. As the product scaled past 100k users, the legacy architecture slowed every release. The platform needed a modern stack — without disrupting service for a paying user base.

WHAT I DID

    Led the legacy migration

    C# MVC monolith → React core app, Next.js marketing/SEO pages, .NET Core APIs. Delivered without disrupting service for 159,000+ users.

  2. 02

    Owned frontend architecture

    Established patterns for state management, data fetching and component structure that kept the codebase maintainable as the product grew.

  3. 03

    Introduced TypeScript

    Brought TS into the React codebase, reducing a recurring class of runtime errors in production.

  4. 04

    Built the AI agent chat frontend

    Streamed responses, conversation state and error handling.

  5. 05

    Performance work

    Rendering strategy, bundle size reduction and query optimization — cutting page load and API response times across the platform.
